We strive for a world where every student has access to education to better themselves and their community — starting with those who will be the first in their family to earn a college degree.

$30,000

Paid over four years of college, generally $3,750 per semester.

Eligibility
Sophomores

High school sophomores in Salt Lake County. Household income $80,000 or less; no parent or step-parent has a US bachelor’s degree.

Mentoring

Scholars are paired with a mentor through high school and college to prepare for life after graduation.

Want to become a mentor?

Two or three hours a month, all through high school and college.

Mentors meet with First Degree Scholars monthly, help them prepare for the ACT/SAT, and stay in their corner through the first professional job.
